Since 2007 Nord/Sør-konsulentene has been undertaking studies, reviews, evaluations, strategy and policy development, and training. We are assisting governmental agencies such as Norad and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as civil society organisations. We have worked with large international Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and small civil society organisations in Norway and in the South. We are operating independently or in collaboration with other consultans.

3 year frame agreement on gender manstreaming within Norad’s Energy Department, part of team together with consultants from the  Energia network.

Norad – Evaluation Department

Evaluation of Norwegian Support to Democratic Development through the United Nations. Responsible for the gender dimension with field work in Pakistan. Joint evaluation together with Scanteam, ODI and Stockholm Policy Group (2010-11)

Facilitation of participatory workshops on organisational development of national societies, for the International Division, including report on workshop outcomes and recommendations.

Gender study for CDC, FMO, and Norfund’s fund managers investing in developing countries on how to assist their investee companies in promoting positive gender outcomes. The study outlines gender-related risks and opportunities in selected regions, countries, and sectors in which the three DFIs indirectly invest. The study was carried out together with two international consultants.

Strengthening gender in the institutional cooperation between the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy (MLME) in Liberia and the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE).

Facilitating process of mainstreaming gender into the international work of the Norwegian Red Cross, including development of gender policy, indicators, developing and giving gender training and integrating gender into overall strategy and systems and structures.

The Atlas Alliance

Facilitating gender audit assessing internal practices and related support systems for gender mainstreaming for umbrella organisation for the development work of disabled people’s organisations in Norway. Establish a baseline, identify critical gaps and challenges, recommend ways of addressing them and suggest new and more effective strategies and documented good practices towards the achievement of gender equality (Field visits to Lesotho and Botswana).

End review of Institutional collaboration between Mekelle and Hawassa Universities in Ethiopia and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB). Particular responsibility for assessing achievements on gender (together with Ethiopian consultant).

Norwegian Refugee Council

Responsible for coordination of international conference and training on humanitarian assistance and gender for Norwegian staff of Norwegian Red Cross, Norwegian people’s Aid, Norwegian Church Aid, Caritas Norway, Save the Children Norway and the Norwegian refugee Council. Responsible for implementation of Gender Capacity Building Workshop in Nairobi on Inter Agency Standing Committee’s Gender Handbook in Humanitarian Action for national staff of the above organizations (with international gender and Adult Learning experts).

Desk study, mapping of international trends on human trafficking including definitions, legal framework, main actors, international interventions, studies, evaluations, best practices.

Contribute to the development of strategy document for their international aid work. Here by motivate for discussions and give feedback on contents.

Develop training suited for employees from Norad and MFA based on the Gender Empowerment Assessment Manual. Give training including lecturing and heading workshop.
